Wash Your Hands!

As long as my co host is talking about the crapper, I thought I would add one thing and move on to more important issues like prom.

Wash you damn hands!

I can't believe any body in this day and age would not wash their hands. Especially after they get out of the crapper. Being the parent of a high school student as many folks who listen to the show know, is no picnic at times. Most of the time all you have to do is look forward and you can see why many of these kids are idiots - Look at mom and dad.

Last weekend the prom was held at our high school. After the prom most kids go to one of the houses's and have an after party. On Friday my son announced to me that the parent hosting the party kicked out. (That's livng large language for canceling). After beating me for an hour and a half I caved in. I have held many parties and I wasn't in the mood to keep one eye open last weekend.

What truly amazes me is the parents. How can they look at their kid and let down 26 kids at the last minute? I saw the old man at pictures for the kids before the prom and he tells me he's indignant because other parent's have not stepped up. Thats's fine but why does this mope do it 24 hours before? It's a mystery to me. My luck - his daughter was my kid's date so I held my tongue for a change. I guess I am ranting because so many kids get a bad rap today. I am not a blamer, BUT in the case of young people they only know what they know from the way they have been raised. The parents are the idiots not the kids.

I guess I should feel honored about my son coming to me at the last minute. He obviously trusts me enough that I won't make him look like a fool in front of his friends. He's a pain in the ass like most teenagers but I wouldn't trade him in for the world. For those parents out there that have a few more years to go before prom, my advice is to remember how it was when you were a teenager. Remember they are people as well, with thoughts and views just like us. To the guy that cost me a night's sleep my only advice to him is: wash your hands!
